UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCH
For their Senior Thesis or Honors in Research at UW-Madison, undergraduates in my lab are each spearheading their own research projects:
Bryce Papp
I am broadly interested in both applied and community ecology. I have been assisting in a non-invasive genetic sampling project which seeks to investigate mesocarnivore dynamics on Isle Royale. Namely, between the American marten and red fox populations following grey wolf repatriation to the island. My work is primarily limited to DNA extraction from scat samples.
Cecilia Gustafson
My interests lie in genetic and habitat analysis of endangered American Marten populations in Northern Michigan. My project involves non invasive DNA extraction and PCR to identify species and individual American Martens.
