I am intrigued by questions that are both ecologically interesting and management-oriented, especially those that investigate how anthropogenic changes to habitat and global climate impact wildlife. My Master’s research will contribute to a long-term study of a community of vertebrates in central Wisconsin. Specifically, my project will investigate the effects of climate change-induced phenotypic mismatch of two winter specialists—ruffed grouse and snowshoe hare by analyzing field data, museum collections, and demographic datasets. I’m excited to be working with an array of long-term ecological data to draw more complex and meaningful conclusions about the effects of climate change on ecological communities.
