I am interested in applying my background in animal physiology to inform management and conservation efforts. My dissertation is focused on puma ecology and is based on three complementary approaches:
1. Spatial ecology: exploring patterns of movement and space use of individuals in a heterogeneous landscape.
2. Nutritional ecology: quantifying food preferences related to dietary needs and space use patterns
3. Physiological ecology: assessing the field metabolic rate, using doubly-marked water, to better understand energy expenditure under different environmental contexts.
