My research focuses on understanding how predators shape ecological communities and influence ecosystem function. Specifically, I use a combination of empirical, theoretical, and statistical approaches to identify the mechanistic drivers of predator–prey interactions, evaluate how these mechanisms respond to ecological and environmental change, and predict how these changes scale to influence community dynamics.

As a postdoctoral researcher in the Pauli Lab, my work focuses on evaluating the effects of Canada lynx reintroduction on the mammal community of Isle Royale National Park. The primary goals of this project are to assess the feasibility of lynx reintroduction to Isle Royale, determine how reintroduction may alter both the short-term dynamics and long-term persistence of the island’s mammal community, and develop a reproducible framework that can be applied to other large carnivore reintroduction efforts.
